Following our previous work on SOMA, an allied health precinct in Sydney’s west; MAAT were engaged for the third stage of the development – a largescale early leaning centre that bookends the site.
The key wayfinding brief was to drive traffic across the precinct and increase dwell-time, by raising awareness of each tenants offer. The orientation of the new building also provided an opportunity for a largescale supergraphic, communicating childcare, and animating the view from the central courtyard and parking.
The design uses a combination of the SOMA and Childcare tenant brand colours to build a landscape of friendly flowers and curious creatures – a welcoming arrival for families, and bright backdrop for first day photos.
