A parish facility alongside the existing 1939 Church, the new building by Architectus houses parish administration and a community hall. Developed by Levande as part of a precinct-wide development, it also links the existing street network to new circulation paths into the site.
MAAT worked across the precinct and shared basement carpark to connect the multi-use site and encourage cross-site connection and communication between the multi-generational occupants, acknowledging each sub-destination as part of a broader experience.
For the parish building, deep v-cutouts in the sign panels reference the folded robes of a Madonna and Child bronze on the facade of the existing Church. High contrast colour palette, increased type sizes and ‘breadcrumbed’ journeys; all combine to assist legibility for a broad demographic.
