HOTA Central

HOTA Central is the key legacy building within the HOTA precinct, providing theatres, function and workshop spaces, and cinemas. Branding by Boccalatte as the true home of the arts on the Gold Coast, and launched in 2018, HOTA Central remained operational as a series of new building works developed on site.

Collaborating with digital agency, AX Interactive, MAAT developed a wayfinding strategy and sign system to herald the new direction of the precinct, and respond to the complex, multi-destination and event-heavy venue. The brand’s bright pink was used throughout the FOH spaces, and a custom digital directory developed for the main arrival space to assist in venue wayfinding; both were implemented and documented into a sign manual

“Working with Jo & Bridget is made all the more enjoyable by their wit and sense of style. MAAT go above and beyond and are well versed in trends and emerging practice.“
