Epping Precinct

A multi-use cross-generational precinct located in the heart of Epping, 6-14 Cambridge St brings together a 24 storey vertical retirement village by Levande, a residential aged care facility, a primary school, an early learning centre, an existing church and new parish administration and community building; with shared pedestrian open spaces and street-front retail.

MAAT developed the wayfinding strategy across the entire precinct, including the shared basement carpark, to connect the site and encourage interaction between its diverse, multi-generational community. The approach delivers a series of distinct signage identities, while acknowledging each sub-destination as part of a broader experience.

A precinct-wide design language was established through consistent use of materiality and typeface, which was then differentiated through colour and form for each destination.
